Rae Shao-Lan Blum (artistic director/choreographer/writer/performer) is the recipient of a Choreographers in Mentorship Exchange (CHIME) Grant 2008 with mentor, Simone Forti. Creating performances for stage, film and site specific locations since 1999, Blum's work spans literary, installation and performance. Blum began her early dance training in New York City in the studios of Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon and Movement Research. In addition to performing, choreographing and directing, she teaches classes and workshops in dance technique, composition and improvisation.
Tashi Wada (Composer/Musician/Performer) was born in 1982 in New York City, and currently divides his time between Los Angeles and San Francisco where he composes and performs music. His work has been performed in the United States
and Europe.
Erin Beneze is a dancer and choreographer living in Los Angeles. She holds a BFA in Contemporary Dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts. She was a founding member and co-director of Clap If Youre Confused, based in Winston-Salem. Since moving to LA in 2007, Erin has danced for Holly Johnston, Jim Tsou and Rae Shao-Lan Blum/Icebergs are Melting (I AM). In addition to her performance for stage she has danced in music videos and performed on street corners, most recently playing oboe alongside tap dancer, Julianne Harper.
Amanda Furches is a performer, choreographer and amateur linguist. She has a BFA in Contemporary Dance and Choreography from NC School of the Arts. She tries to balance the sometimes frustrating but always inspiring energy this multicultural metropolis creates with somatic movement, improvisation and creative projects including dance films, and choreography for music videos. She recently choreographed for SpringSummer, Bobby Evans, SoloBob, and Bob Dylan. She is excited to continue her deep and enriching work with Icebergs are Melting (I AM).
